Edited by Henry Lee and Elaine Pagliaro, this textbook invites readers to join world-renowned forensic scientists as they explain the logic and science behind famous cases. While reviewing each riveting case, readers learn the scientific principles, new forensic technology, theory formation, and crime reconstruction involved in these analyses. Each chapter covers a specific forensic discipline such as bloodstain pattern analysis, fingerprinting, DNA analysis, digital evidence techniques, and more.
Henry C. Lee, founder of the Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science, was the chief of the Connecticut Forensic Lab for 30 years and Commissioner for the State Police and Department of Public Safety. He has assisted in over 8,000 major case investigations, served as a consultant for 600 law enforcement agencies, and testified over 1,000 times in both criminal and civil courts in the United States and abroad. Elaine M. Pagliaro is a forensic scientist, former assistant executive director at the Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science, and a consultant with Forensic Bioscience Consultants. She holds a J.D. from the Quinnipiac University School of Law and a master's degree in forensic science with concentration in criminalistics from the University of New Haven.
