Follow the unlikely friendship of Millie the Mermaid and Bonnie the Bear, as they discover that kindness, courage, and a little splash of magic can bring even the most unexpected friends together. In her debut picture book, Bec Brennan celebrates the joy of true friendships and the beauty of accepting others for who they truly are.

Author:
Bec is an emerging author who lives near the beach in Perth, Western Australia, with her husband, daughter, and their cheeky dog, Waffle. A passionate advocate for neurodiversity, Bec is dedicated to creating stories that help children understand feelings, celebrate their unique brains, and recognise that every individual is valued and loved. Her work offers gentle reminders that no child is ever alone; they are seen, cared for, and will find their tribe. This book is inspired by the power of imagination and the magic of faraway
lands, where unlikely friendships bloom and wonderfully unusual adventures unfold.
Illustrator:
Amy Jacinta is an illustrator based in the Adelaide Hills. After graduating with a Bachelor of Illustration and Design from the University of South Australia, she has explored a wide range of image-making techniques, including soft pastel, coloured pencil, watercolour, and woodcut. She often blends traditional media with digital collage to create her signature style. Amy’s work is infused with hope and guided by a desire to inspire courage in readers of all ages. Her love of picture books, and all things art, is joyfully shared with her two children and Shmoodle the pooch.
