Baby Chloe’s naptime is a nogo, so it’s time to hit the road. What will Mama and Baby Chloe see during their sunset drive through Sydney’s Lower North Shore? From scuba divers to street lanterns, tired tourists to transport, every turn brings something new. A lyrical, lightfilled journey, perfect for curious little minds (and tired ones too).

Author:
Kate Hasbani is a qualified lawyer, board member, and children’s book author who discovered her love of storytelling in the quiet (and sometimes chaotic) moments of early motherhood. Inspired by her two young daughters and the unexpected poetry of daily life, Kate brings lyrical warmth and playful curiosity to her debut picture book, Car Naps. With a career spanning Australia and the UK, Kate’s professional background contrasts beautifully with her personal life of story time, nap routines, and scribbling verses whenever inspiration strikes. She writes to capture the beauty in everyday moments, and to help little one’s wind down, one page at a time.

Illustrator:
Jessica Jane is an illustrator and designer based in Melbourne, Australia. After completing a Bachelor of Illustration in 2016, she has exhibited in galleries, participated in artist markets, and sold her work both online and in stores, alongside a thriving freelance career in illustration and design. Her personal style draws on nostalgia and whimsy, often featuring animals, nature, travel, costumes, and storytelling. Jessica’s signature black and white ink drawings invite close inspection — the more you look, the more you discover — using intricate crosshatching, stippling, and shading to create a timeless, vintage look. Her client portfolio also includes vibrant watercolours, digital illustration, and vector art. Discover more of her work at jessicajaneillustration.com or @jessicajane illustration on Instagram.
