My frenzied quest to tie the knot, tear up the dance floor, and figure out why my 15 minutes of fame included commercial breaks.
Rachel Eddey earned her MFA in nonfiction from The New School in 2005. While working in the public relations department of Tiffany & Co., she helped plan events for high-profile guests, including Susan Sarandon, Tony Bennett, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Kristen Bell, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Jeff Gordon, and Kristen Chenoweth. Her essays have appeared in the New York Times, Newsday, Chicago Tribune, Philadelphia Inquirer, St. Petersburg Times, and national magazines including Plenty, Tango, Grit, Wine Enthusiast, The Writer, and Whole Life Times. She is a featured blogger for the Jerusalem Post, which runs her Running of the Bride column. A senior writer / researcher at Columbia University, she lives with her husband in New York City. To his chagrin, she adores the color pink.
"An honest, laugh-out-loud account. Rachel is not only a gifted storyteller and a superb writer, she has an engaging sense of humor--and timing--that keeps readers glued to the page."-Long Island Woman"Funny, smart, and an excellent writer, Rachel Eddey gives Jen Lancaster a run for her money as she races with sarcastic wit and whine all the way up to the altar. ... She holds her own, though, with her own style, a little bit sweet and a little bit sassy. She paints one vivid satirical vignette after another ... Completely hilarious."-A Frugal Life "A funny, breezy romp through Manhattan wedding mania." -Susan Shapiro, author of Five Men Who Broke My Heart"A laugh-out-loud peek into the mind of a crazed bride. . . . Truly a great read!" -Jodie Sweetin, Full House actress and author of unSweetined"From the very first page of her hysterical memoir, she keeps us in stitches." -Amber Benson, Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress and writer/director"A fast read, full of funny and often heart-warming moments. . . . Compelling."-Dan Konopka, drummer for OK Go "Hilarious ... I couldn't put down this heartfelt story of learning how to have it all." ---Carley Roney, cofounder and editor in chief of TheKnot.com
